"Techo International Airport: A Symbol of Cambodia's Advancement, Says Prime Minister"

Phnom Penh, March 12, 2024: Prime Minister Hun Manet hailed the achievement of Techo International Airport as a beacon of Cambodia's progress, emblematic of former PM's vision for the development of the Southwest region.

Addressing during a visit to the Techo International Airport on Tuesday morning, March 12, 2024, PM Hun Manet underscored that the investment in constructing a new international airport signifies Cambodia's enduring peace.

"The country's stability has instilled confidence in investors, prompting them to embark on this ambitious venture," remarked the Prime Minister.

He emphasized that the airport's development stands as a testament to Cambodia's advancement, a narrative he is unreservedly proud to showcase on the global stage.

Furthermore, PM commended the exceptional quality of construction at Techo International Airport, foreseeing widespread benefits for the entire nation, a testament to the collective pride of all involved stakeholders.

The construction of Techo International Class 4F Airport commenced on June 16, 2020, spanning a vast area of 2,600 hectares across Kandal Steung District, Kandal Province, and Bati District, Takeo Province. As of February 21, 2024, the airport's completion rate stood at an impressive 66.1%, with a total construction cost of $961 million out of the projected $1.5 billion investment.
